Difference between high speed racing cars nascar and f1

The two most well-known motorsport races worldwide are NASCAR and F1 car racing.

NASCAR and F1 cars are significantly different from one another. Everything about these cars, from their aerodynamic designs to their engines to their tires and driving styles, is unique. Each vehicle can have extraordinary racing speeds with every component of each car specifically designed to obtained max results.

One of the defining characteristics of each sport's uniqueness is the variations in the entire structure and design of these cars.

Formula 1 vs. Nascar

The difference between these two cars are:

Size

In terms of height, width, and weight, of Nascar vs F1 cars is that F1 cars are considerably smaller than NASCAR cars. The maximum dimensions of Formula 1 racing vehicles are 200cm (or 78.7′′) in width and 95cm (or 37.4′′) in height. Although there is no restriction on the length of the car, they are all roughly the same length at 5 meters (16.4ft). The dimensions of the cars are typically 53′′ (134.5cm) in height, 110′′ (279.4cm) to 120′′ (304.8cm) in width at the wheelbase, and 190′′ (482.6cm) to 200′′ (508cm) in length. The weight of the cars is often between 3100lb (1400kg) and 3900lb (1770kg).

Body Shape And Design

The NASCAR cars unlike F1 cars have body shells mounted to a chassis. The wheels and cockpit of Formula 1 racing cars are on display, and there is no real body shell to speak of. To help the automobile move through the air around the driver, sharp wings, spoilers, and fins surround them.

Chasis

The Formula 1 teams develop and produce the chassis for the vehicles competing in that sport.

The NASCAR teams do not create their chassis for use in the race; instead, the major automakers represented in the races design and construct them.

Engines

The 1.6L V6 hybrid turbocharged engines power every F1 car. These engines generate between 600 and 650 Nm of torque and 875 to 1000 horsepower.

Racing 5.87L V8 engines with natural aspiration, 850 horsepower, and 9500 rpm are used in NASCAR cars.

Tires

For F1 cars, there are seven different tire types available for different situations and requirements with varied degrees of hardness and traction. Two of them are made for racing in wet conditions, and the remaining five are made for conditions.

The tires used in NASCAR are less sophisticated because each car has a tire that is either wet or dry, and the rubber compound is modified accordingly. Additionally, each wheel has a 15-inch tire mounted on a 9.5-inch or 10-inch rim.

f1 car cost  and Nascar car cost

Formula 1 vehicles are machines constructed to precise tolerances and requirements. The cost of this level of engineering is extremely high. According to estimates, one F1 car may cost a team $15.52 million. This does not include the millions of dollars needed to design, develop, and produce the cars.

Each NASCAR car costs between $200 000 and $400 000. All of the car's motors, tires, chassis, and other parts fall under this category.

Nascar vs. f1 speed

NASCAR races are slower than Formula 1 races in terms of raw speed. NASCAR top speed has been measured at 212 mph, and it accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 3.5 seconds, while top speed of F1 cars reach upto 235 mph. Additionally, Formula 1 cars can achieve 200 mph in 9 seconds, compared to a NASCAR’s average speed 160 mph in the same amount of time.

This is not to argue when it comes to F1 vs Nascar that NASCAR cars are in any way slow, merely that F1 cars accelerate more quickly and travel faster across a track.
